ORGANIC COTTON

Our wholesale partner Stanley/Stella has chosen to only use 100% organic cotton, sourced from seeds that are non-GMO and grown without the use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers.
Only a very small part of the cotton produced worldwide is organic cotton. When growing organic cotton, no pollutants get into the soil or into the adjacent rivers, lakes or seas. This means that the water used in organic farming is not considered wasted water as it can be reused and returned to the soil or other water sources without causing harm. These positive impacts on water, soil and biodiversity mean that the well-being and livelihoods of cotton farmers and those around them are respected and protected.

GOTS CERTIFICATION

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is based on both ecological and social criteria. He ensures that the cotton is grown organically, without the use of genetically modified seeds and harmful chemicals.
For our collections, Stanley/Stella has decided to only use 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton . Transaction certificates for each production phase guarantee the traceability and the proportion of organically produced fibers in our products from the first processing step to the end customer.

WATER CONSUMPTION

Since water is an invaluable resource, Stanley/Stella uses it responsibly. Water consumption and water pollution in the entire supply chain should be reduced.
Water is a crucial resource for the successful cultivation of organic cotton and in agriculture as a whole. Unlike the cultivation of conventional cotton, organic farming does not pollute the water with harmful chemicals. This avoids undesirable negative impacts on soil and biodiversity.
Water is also used in the dyeing and washing of textiles. This inevitably creates chemically contaminated old water. All of our partner factories have on-site wastewater treatment plants that meet legal requirements, in-house experts and testing facilities.* This ensures that the wastewater can be treated and then returned to nature without harming the environment.

Printing Machines & Inks

Compared to classic printing processes, the DTG printing machines from our partner Shirtigo consume up to 95% less water and 60% less energy. Water-based and biodegradable NeoPigment inks from Kornit are used, which are free of toxins and animal ingredients (vegan).
